German slaw- Ingredients: 23 strips of thin sliced bacon chopped 1 clove of garlic finely chopped 1/2 cup cider vinegar salt and white pepper to taste-use a lot of pepper, it adds just the right bite 1 tablespoon sugar 1/2 cup chopped white onion 4 cups cabbage shredded In a heavy pan, fry the bacon till brown but not crisp. Add garlic and sauté one minute. Add the vinegar, salt , pepper, sugar and onion Cook at medium-high heat until you have a saucy combination (@ 3 minutes) Add cabbage, stir over medium heat until coated with sauce, keep stirring until sauce is absorbed. Serve immediately on individual salad plates.
